Cherry Blossom Families

My Philosophy

I believe that child birth is a sacred, beautiful, and profoundly transformative process.  When a laboring woman is surrounded by confidence, patience, and calm the use of unnecessary interventions can often be avoided.  I hope to provide you with the knowledge and support necessary to give you the birth experience you desire.

I also understand, however, that not all births go 'as planned' and that there is a time and place for medical interventions, whether they are desired or necessary.  As your doula my job is to create a safe environment, where you are able to make the best decisions for yourself and your baby.

"We are made to do this work and its not easy...I would say that pain is part of the glory, of the tremendous mystery of life.  And that if anything, it's a kind of privilege to stand so close to such an incredible miracle."

-Simone in Lasson

My journey to becoming a doula began after the birth of my two amazing children.  My eyes were opened to the power and beauty that bringing a baby into the world holds.  Being able to enter motherhood feeling strong, supported, and empowered was such a wonderful gift.

I soon realized this passion was something I wanted to share, something I wanted to make my life's 'work'.  I truly love being a doula, serving and supporting each of the families I work with is such an incredible joy.

Through personal knowledge and experiences, along with formal doula training and certification, I am prepared to support and guide a mother and her partner

through late pregnancy, birth, and the immediate postpartum time.  I have experience with both natural and medicated births as well as VBAC's, C-sections, inductions, and high-risk pregnancies.

I am a certified doula with the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA).  In addition, I hold a Masters of Science in Human Nutrition and Food Science.

I live in the Wash Park neighborhood with my incredible husband and children.

We love spending our time in the mountains hiking, camping, skiing, and enjoying Colorado's beauty.
